Genesis 41: How Joseph Take Explain Pharaoh Dream and Rise from Prison to Palace as Food Wahala Near Egypt and Di World

📖 Genesis 41:1–57 in Pidgin English 

1. Two years later, Pharaoh dream say he dey stand near River Nile.
2. From inside di river, seven fat cows wey fresh come out begin graze.
3. Then seven other cows come out—thin and ugly like death—stand near di fat ones.
4. Di thin cows chop di fat cows finish, but dem still remain lean. Pharaoh wake up.

5. He sleep again and dream another dream: Seven fine heads of grain grow from one stalk.
6. Then seven dry ones wey east wind blow come out and swallow di healthy grains.
7. Pharaoh wake up again—na dream.

8. By morning, Pharaoh spirit no rest. He call all Egypt magicians and wise men, but nobody fit tell am wetin di dream mean.

9. Then di chief butler talk say, “I remember something today.”
10. “When you vex for me and di chief baker, you put us inside prison.
11. We both dream one night and a young Hebrew slave interpret di dream for us.
12. Everything happen just as he talk. You restore me back and hang di baker.”

13. So Pharaoh send call Joseph from prison.
14. Dem rush go bring am. He shave, change him cloth, and go meet Pharaoh.
15. Pharaoh say, “I dream, and dem say you fit explain dream.”
16. Joseph say, “Na God go give Pharaoh correct answer—no be me.”

17. Pharaoh begin talk: “For my dream, I stand near River Nile.
18. Seven fat cows come out graze.
19. Then seven lean ones come—ugly like I never see before for Egypt.
20. Di lean ones chop di fat cows.
21. Even after dem chop am, dem still look lean and dry. I wake up.”

22. “Then I get another dream: Seven fine heads of grain grow on one stalk.
23. After that, seven thin, dry, wind-blown ones come.
24. Dem swallow di good heads. I tell my magicians, but nobody sabi wetin e mean.”

25. Joseph say, “Pharaoh two dreams na one meaning. God wan show you wetin go happen.”
26. “Di seven good cows and seven good grains mean seven years of plenty.
27. Di seven lean cows and seven dry grains mean seven years of serious hunger.”
28. “God show Pharaoh wetin go happen soon.”
29. “Seven years of plenty go land Egypt well-well.
30. Then seven years of famine go come wey go wipe memory of those good years.”
31. “Di hunger go too much pass anything before.”
32. “God show you two times so you go know say e go happen sharp sharp.”

33. “So, Pharaoh gatz find wise man to oversee di land.
34. Appoint officers to gather food for di seven years of surplus.
35. Store am in towns under Pharaoh control.
36. So when hunger come, una go get enough food for survival.”

37. Di plan sweet Pharaoh and all him officials.
38. Pharaoh say, “Who else get God spirit like this man?”
39. “Since God don show you all this, nobody wise reach you.”
40. “You go take charge of my palace and Egypt. Na only my throne pass you.”

41. Pharaoh say, “I put you in charge of all Egypt.”
42. He remove him ring, give Joseph, wear fine linen for him body, put gold chain for neck.
43. Joseph ride Pharaoh second chariot. People shout, “Bow down!” before am.
44. Pharaoh say, “Nobody go raise hand or leg for Egypt without Joseph permission.”

45. Pharaoh give Joseph new name—Zaphenath-Paneah—and give am wife, Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, priest of On.
46. Joseph be 30 years old when he begin work under Pharaoh. He waka all Egypt.

47. For seven years, di land produce food well-well.
48. Joseph gather plenty grain and store dem for cities—each city get storage.
49. Di grain plenty like sand, he stop to count am.

50. Before famine come, Asenath born Joseph two sons.
51. Di first one na Manasseh: “God make me forget my pain and my papa house wahala.”
52. Di second one na Ephraim: “God make me fruitful inside land of my suffering.”

53. Di seven years of plenty end.
54. Then famine start, just as Joseph talk. Hunger full everywhere but Egypt get food.
55. When Egyptians cry to Pharaoh, he say, “Go meet Joseph, do wetin he tell you.”
56. Joseph open di storehouses and begin sell grain to people.
57. People from all countries come Egypt buy food, because famine dey catch everywhere.
