📖 Genesis 39:1–23 in Pidgin English
1. When dem carry Joseph go Egypt, Potiphar, wey be Pharaoh officer and chief guard, buy am from the Ishmael traders.
2. God dey with Joseph, and he begin succeed for everything wey he do. He live for him master house.
3. Potiphar see say God dey with Joseph and everything wey Joseph touch dey succeed.
4. Joseph find favour with Potiphar and become him house servant. Potiphar put am in charge of everything for him house.
5. From the day Potiphar make Joseph head of everything, God begin bless Potiphar house because of Joseph. Everything for house and farm dey flourish.
6. Potiphar no dey worry about anything again—na only food he dey think about. Joseph fine and strong well-well.
7. After some time, Potiphar wife begin eye Joseph and tell am, “Come sleep with me.”
8. But Joseph refuse. He say, “My master trust me with everything and no hold anything from me except you, because you be him wife.”
9. “I no fit do this kain evil thing and sin against God.”
10. Every day, she dey disturb Joseph, but he no gree, and he avoid her.
11. One day, Joseph enter house to do work and none of the workers dey around.
12. Potiphar wife grab Joseph cloth and say, “Sleep with me!” Joseph run comot but him cloth remain for her hand.
13. When she see say Joseph run leave him cloth,
14. she shout call the house people say, “See this Hebrew slave! He wan disgrace me. But I shout and he run comot.”
15. “As I shout, he drop him cloth and run.”
16. She keep the cloth until her husband return.
17. She tell Potiphar, “That Hebrew slave you bring come try disgrace me.”
18. “But as I shout, he run and leave him cloth.”
19. When Potiphar hear him wife story, he vex well-well.
20. He carry Joseph put for prison where Pharaoh prisoners dey. But even for prison,
21. God still dey with Joseph, show am mercy and give am favour with the prison officer.
22. The officer put Joseph in charge of all other prisoners.
23. The prison officer no check anything wey Joseph dey do, because God dey with am and make everything him hand touch succeed.
