📖 Genesis 23:1–20 in Pidgin English
1. Sarah, Abraham wife, die for Kirjath-arba (we dey call Hebron now). She die when she reach 127 years.
2. Abraham mourn Sarah, cry for her.
3. Abraham talk to Hittites wey dey the land, say, “Make una help me buy small place to bury my wife.”
4. All Hittites answer Abraham say, “You be big man for us. You be prince for God. Choose any place wey you like for bury your wife.”
5. Abraham say, “I want buy cave of Machpelah wey belong to Ephron the Hittite, inside im land.”
6. Ephron dey among the people. Ephron say to Abraham, “I go sell am for 400 shekels silver. The place dey inside my land. You fit bury your wife for there.”
7. Abraham come weigh 400 silver shekels, talk say e go pay Ephron the full price before all people.
8. Ephron accept the silver, and give Abraham the land and cave of Machpelah wey dey inside the land.
9. The land and cave become Abraham property.
10. Abraham bury Sarah for the cave of Machpelah for the land of Canaan.
11. After that, Abraham talk to Hittites, “Make una respect me as I buy land for bury my dead.”
12. The Hittites answer, “If you want bury your dead, we fit give you land for free or pay small price.”
13. But Abraham insist to pay full price for the land.
14. Abraham and Ephron agree, both people come witness the deal.
15. Ephron give Abraham the cave of Machpelah for 400 silver shekels, good price for land wey near Kirjath-arba.
16. Abraham pay full price to Ephron for the land before all Hittites.
17. The land and cave of Machpelah become Abraham own.
18. Abraham bury Sarah for Machpelah cave inside Canaan land.
19. The cave wey Abraham buy from Hittites near Mamre, the Amorite brother of Eshcol and Aner, who be Abraham friends.
20. The place become Abraham grave and land wey him children go inherit.
